Our Name

Cornerstone
Undeniably, a cornerstone is the most important element
of a building’s foundation. It bears a disproportionate amount of the
building's weight. And from the cornerstone, every other part of
the foundation is aligned. In the same way, Jesus is the cornerstone of
a well-grounded life. His teaching and life set the pattern for how we should
"live and move and have our being" (Acts 17:28). Clearly, in Christ
we all have the material to build strong foundations for
life.
Community
The inherent value that the God of the Bible places on
relationship eclipses that of all other religions. Even before humankind existed, God
himself—the Father,
Jesus Christ, and the Spirit—existed in eternal, unbroken community. And when
Jesus walked on earth, He communicated this sacred value system with
a simple and powerful command, given to His followers: Love one
another as I have loved you.
Jesus knew that every person in the world needs genuine love.
At Cornerstone we are learning what it means to be a community and to
love one another by helping each another walk with Jesus throughout the
courses of our lives.
Church
Cornerstone Community
Church is a place of worship. And while we all worship someone or
something, the majority vote has never been to worship Jesus
Christ. But being counter-cultural has never bothered God. Jesus
himself made a very counter-cultural assertion when he said the greatest commandment is to New%20Web%20Pictures
"love God with all our heart and mind and soul." Huh? In our
entertainment-driven world, no one will mistake this saying for a
common axiom! But our goal is to take Jesus at His word and
experience the profound outworkings of worship in every moment of
our lives in our postmodern, post-God culture.
