Worship. One of the most misunderstood, most ridiculed and most marketed
commodities on earth. Does worship extend beyond hand claps and hymn
books? Do we equate it with puppy love? Is it more than a frame of mind?
At Cornerstone we believe that worship is a phenomena that we are called
to engage
in and experience with our whole beings, seven days a week (and that's
right—24
hours a day). Yes, worship
is our voluntary expression of love to God. But worship, more importantly,
is God himself shaping and changing our lives as we are redefined by His
presence. Worship is not temporary fix. Worship is more than a song and
dance. Worship is a lifestyle, best encapsulated by Jesus command to
"love the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your
mind, and all your strength" (Matthew 22:37).
The primary way we show our love for God is by exalting Him in every facet
of our lives, everywhere, moment by moment. This is the Jesus view of worship; "I will praise the Lord
at all times" (Psalm 34:1). We cannot redefine the biblical perspective on
worship. Rather, as we give place
to Christ in every dimension of life,
these God-centered acts, seized upon by His spirit, redefine us.
At Cornerstone, we view our Sunday morning service as a worship-moment
that equips and encourages us to pursue the life-wide avenues of worship
that extend beyond the church's doors. We also use the time to worship
God together, audibly, blending classic hymns with the best new songs that
promote a heart of praise toward our great king. We desire to enjoy the
riches of the past while allowing for the ever-creative work of God’s Spirit.
If you would like to join us for a "moment" of worship some Sunday, you
may need directions. Our main service begins at
10:45.
If you are a Christian, looking for a church home, and you possess some
musical ability, you may be interested in the opportunity to join
Cornerstone's worship team. If you want more details,
