Some news is too good to keep to yourself. That's why, although we
certainly want to honor God by obeying Him, we have additional reasons for
explaining to others how to know God—through a
relationship with Jesus Christ. After all, Jesus' "Great Commission"
command to "Go and make
disciples of all the nations" (Matthew 28:19), was not given to his
followers in a spiritual vacuum. He was speaking to his dearest friends
and associates, the people who had experienced the joy and power of
knowing Him intimately. Two thousand years later, it's no different
for us.

At Cornerstone we take Jesus’ words seriously. And He unmistakably said to
tell every people group about the amazing implications of His human birth,
death and return to life. The reason for His command is obvious: "How can they believe in
Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him
unless someone tells them?" (Romans 10:14).
But to those who have a relationship with Jesus, his command is only a
confirmation of what we already want to do! Jesus is life's
redemption. Jesus
changes lives. And in the story of the Cross, God's love
for all the nations and every person is clearly revealed. This is our
story from God. Our love letter, historically verifiable, experientially
proven, written, as it were, in indelible ink. Of course we want to share
it!
"This is how much God loved the world: He
gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why:
so that no one need be destroyed. By believing in him, anyone can have a
whole and lasting life." —John 3:16
